What is the Berry Chamber?

An association of independent businesses in and around the local area, which serves to represent the interests of local business and the local economy. Business members pay an annual fee which funds the activities of the Chamber. The Executive Committee meet monthly to work on an agenda of projects and issues which affect local businesses.

What does the Berry Chamber do?

It works to grow the local economy, to serve as a voice for business and to deliver value to members. Specifically it:

• Actively promotes Berry and its events through television, print and radio advertising as well as social media
• Organises information and networking events for its members
• Makes representations on behalf of Berry’s businesses at local, state and government levels
• Contributes critical funding and advertising support to other local events that bring custom and support to local businesses.

Mission

The mission of the Berry Chamber is to:

• Increase membership each year
• Increase members participation and involvement in Chamber activities
• Provide more training and networking opportunities
• Provide cost-effective marketing for members and Berry as a whole
• Build local business viability through increasing visitor frequency duration each year.

• Get your business listed on the new www.local.berry.org.au website, which the Chamber will be marketing to the local Berry community.
• Raise awareness of your business among other local businesses. Aside from Chamber members giving you business directly, many refer their customers to other members.
• Attend free business-building seminars. From growth planning, to internet marketing seminars, chamber members get free access to advice from successful local business people and other experts.
• Attend networking events, where members can meet socially and make the face-to-face connections which lead to more business.
• Free and automatic membership to the NSW Business Chamber.
• Support yourself and your community by contributing to the marketing of Berry as a visitor destination. Berry relies on the health of the tourist trade. If you believe your local business is not affected by tourism, think again. It’s likely that your clients’ businesses rely on it and if they aren’t doing well, neither are you.
• Help build Berry into the place you want to leave our children and grandchildren. The Chamber supports local initiatives and events which not only bring business to our town, but build the infrastructure that we all enjoy.

Joining the Berry Chamber

Membership Fees are just $295.00 each financial year per business.

You can submit your application online or contact the Secretary as below. Once received your application will be reviewed by the Secretary and discussed by the Executive if necessary. Should your application meet the criteria for joining as outlined in our Constitution we will be in touch to discuss payment. If your application is unsuccessful you will be notified as to why your application has been unsuccessful.
