Event Details
On Saturday 27th April, the Shoalhaven Lydian Singers, under the baton of our new Musical Director Katharina Raffelsberger, are delighted to present a variety of beautiful music on the theme of New Beginnings. With much of the music reflecting Easter and the resurrection of Christ, both classical and modern songs will revive both memories and love.
Two highlights of the program will be:
The Gloria in D, RV589, by Antonio Vivaldi and The German Magnificat, SWV426 by Heinrich Schütz.
The Lydians will also present two songs from Ola Gjeilo, whose Sunrise Mass inspired us at Christmas, and two from Karl Jenkins – the Ave Verum from his Stabat Mater his Cantate Domino. Some shorter works of Mozart, Handel and Bach will also feature in the program.
This is a program not to be missed! Our audience should look forward to new challenges, new surprises, and new delights from The Lydians in 2019.
