Muttonfish Magic: Book Launch & Storytime @ Bundanon

Celebrate the launch of Muttonfish Magic, a beautiful new children’s book by Bidjigal Elder Aunty Ruth Simms and co-author Lucy Robertson, with a special morning of storytelling, culture and connection at Bundanon on Saturday 11 April 2026 from 10am – 12pm.

Inspired by Aunty Ruth’s childhood memories of fishing and gathering abalone with her family, this enchanting story brings together lived experience, Country and tradition. Guests are invited to experience a live reading alongside a thoughtful conversation with the authors, joined by Bundanon’s Cultural Liaison Manager Jerome Comisari, exploring the stories and creative process behind the book.

The morning opens with a Smoking Ceremony, creating a meaningful and welcoming shared experience for all. This family-friendly event includes a dedicated storytime recommended for children aged 5 – 12, while also offering depth and insight for adult audiences.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for concession, with free entry for Bundanon Members, First Nations community members and children under 12. All tickets include entry to the Art Museum, making it easy to extend your visit and explore the wider Bundanon grounds.
