Bundanon’s summer exhibition The Hidden Line: Art of the Boyd Women shines a powerful new light on five generations of women from one of Australia’s most renowned artistic families.

Featuring more than 300 works, this landmark exhibition repositions the creative legacy of the Boyd women – from painters and potters to designers, photographers and filmmakers – whose influence has long been woven through the fabric of Australian art.

Showcasing works by Emma Minnie Boyd, Doris Boyd, Lady Mary Nolan, Yvonne Boyd, Lucy Boyd Beck, Hermia Boyd and their descendants, the exhibition draws from the Bundanon Collection alongside major national loans, revealing rarely seen pieces and never-before-exhibited works.

Contemporary commissions by leading Australian women artists, including Pat Brassington, Elizabeth Dunn, Helen Johnson, Narelle Jubelin, Tjunkaya Tapaya OAM and Timna Taylor, further extend the conversation – connecting generations of creativity, vision and resilience.

From today, Thursday 11th December, The Garden Berry’s indoor dining space is home to a joyful new exhibition, Sunshine in my Paintbox by bexta (Becky Guggisberg). This vibrant collection draws on the generous rhythms of the season, celebrating the small moments that bring happiness to a South Coast summer – bowls filled with cherries and stone fruits, farmers markets humming with life, swims that reset the day and picnics shared with the people who make life feel full.

The works lean into colour, play and gratitude. Light, joyful and full of life, they invite visitors to pause and appreciate the simple pleasures that define summer.

Based on the NSW South Coast, bexta brings a clear affection for the season to her practice, capturing the way summer gathers people, flavours and memories in this uplifting body of work.

Sunshine in my Paintbox will be on display until Wednesday 7th January 2026, ready to be enjoyed during your next visit to The Garden Berry.

The Treat Factory is adding a little extra Christmas cheer to parade day this Saturday 13th December with drop-in DIY Choc Pop Making sessions! You’ll get to create your own festive choc pop with sprinkles, ribbons and a dash of Christmas fun, making it the perfect sweet stop before, or after, the Grand Christmas Street Parade.

Times: 10:30am – 11:30am and 1:30pm – 2:30pm
Cost: $12.50 dollars per person, including one choc pop

Green Mountain Nature Play is bringing a little handmade magic to Berry in the lead-up to Christmas, with Festive Bushcraft Workshops for kids aged 4-14 years.

These 2.5 hour morning sessions running Saturday 20th to Tuesday 23rd December, allow kids to space to create thoughtful, slow-made gifts such as beeswax candles, wooden gnomes, felt doves and woven wreaths, guided by nature play mentors and local artist Penny Craig.

Sessions on Saturday 20th & Monday 22nd December will focus on Candle and Felt Dove Making, while sessions on Sunday 21st and Tuesday 23rd December will focus on Gnome Whittling and Weaving. Along the way they will join a nature treasure hunt, craft their own bush-brush, design gift wrap, paint wooden decorations, mould an air-dry clay candle holder and take part in collaborative, nature-based play.

It is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn bushcraft skills while making something truly special. While they are happily immersed, parents can wander Berry’s shops and cafés just a short stroll away.

Berry Village Market is a boutique market held in the grounds of Berry Bowling Club, 10am – 3pm on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Explore a vibrant, playful world at Bundanon this summer, where artist Rosie Deacon’s Neon Bushland installation creates a bright and tactile wonderland inspired by local flora and fauna. Families and visitors of all ages are invited to wander through exuberant handmade forms, feel the textures of recycled and repurposed materials, and discover whimsical creatures hidden in the colourful landscape.

A key feature of the experience is the dedicated all-ages making space, where everyone is encouraged to design and contribute their own curious creation to the ever-growing neon bushland. It is an invitation to slow down, get hands-on and join in the creative energy that defines this immersive installation.

This is a free event running from 3rd to 18th January 10am – 2pm at the Boyd Education Centre, Bundanon.

Come and shop at the South Coast’s largest monthly outdoor market! Held on the first Sunday of every month except February, Berry Markets hosts approximately 200 stalls offering a range of arts and crafts, locally grown vegetables and produce, collectables, books, plants, leather goods, clothing and many other interesting stalls to browse.

Open to the public from 8:30am till 2.00pm. Entry is free.

Young voices will take centre stage as children share their fresh perspectives on The Hidden Line: Art of the Boyd Women. Bundanon’s upcoming Art Tours by Kids invites audiences to experience the exhibition through the eyes of young creators, giving children’s ideas a vibrant public platform.

Bundanon is currently calling for 8 to 12-year-olds with a passion for art, storytelling or big ideas to step into the role of honorary art guide for a day. Selected participants will take part in a free two-day program, developing their responses to the exhibition, building confidence in public speaking and preparing to deliver their own insights during the tours. Children and their carers must be available at Bundanon on Sunday 11 and Sunday 18 January for program workshops. Expressions of interest close 12th December.

This lively program offers a rare opportunity for young people to interpret art in their own words and for visitors to see the exhibition through an entirely new lens.

Berry Village Market is a boutique market held in the grounds of Berry Bowling Club, 10am – 3pm on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Bring a picnic blanket with you and laze away in the sunshine while you take in live music and market vibes. Parking is available onsite, including disabled parking, and full club facilities including an ATM are available on the day. The market is also dog friendly.

The Rotary Club of Berry is again hosting the Australia Day Breakfast – and everyone is welcome at this FREE community event!

• Egg and bacon sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, tea, instant coffee and soft drinks will be available FREE of charge, however a kind donation to Rotary’s community projects fund would be gratefully appreciated.
• Entertainment all morning, including gumboot throwing and other kids games.
• From 8am to 11am. Come for an enjoyable morning under the trees in the woodchop area of Berry Showground.

Green Mountain Nature Play is offering a hands-on school holiday program designed for children who love to explore, be active and learn through real adventures in the bush. Set among acres of wild, open terrain, this immersive experience invites kids to scramble over rocks, practise bushcraft, paddle in the creek and discover the natural world at their own pace.

Each day follows a flexible plan that responds to the interests and energy of the group. With no walls to contain their curiosity, children are encouraged to stretch their capabilities within safe limits while enjoying the freedom of true outdoor play.

Activities may include:

• Nature-inspired art and craft
• Salt-dough sculpting
• Baking bread on the campfire
• Weaving and knots
• Storytelling and songs
• Building shelters or rope swings
• Whittling
• Trail games
• Archery
• Slackline balancing
• Exploring rock pools
• Identifying local birds, plants and animals

Beyond the practical skills, Nature Play places strong emphasis on connection, confidence and community. Children learn to listen deeply, speak openly, support one another and develop a genuine respect for the environment. It is an experience that feels like stepping into a big, adventurous family for the day – one that celebrates courage, kindness and the joy of being outside.

The 2 day program will feature all your favourite agricultural highlights including dairy & beef cattle breeds, horses & showjumping, goats & poultry, hay-stacking, Young Farmer Challenge and woodchopping plus the children’s pet show, local arts & crafts, food, fun, fireworks and more!
