Bringing together one of Arthur Boyd’s most celebrated bodies of work with a major new commission by acclaimed contemporary artist Shaun Gladwell, Man on Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar is a powerful new exhibition at Bundanon that explores themes of pride, power, transformation and renewal.

At the heart of the exhibition is Boyd’s renowned Nebuchadnezzar series, created largely in the United Kingdom during the 1960s. Inspired by the biblical story of the Babylonian king who is cast into the wilderness and forced to live as an animal, Boyd’s works reflect his deeply held pacifist beliefs and the social upheaval of the Vietnam War era. The paintings offer a compelling meditation on human vulnerability, ego and the consequences of unchecked power.

Responding directly to Boyd’s work is a significant new commission by Shaun Gladwell, one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists. Created during a residency at Bundanon, Gladwell’s work draws on his longstanding connection to the Shoalhaven and interest in themes of masculinity, transformation and the role of art as a catalyst for personal and social change.

Spanning generations and artistic disciplines, Man on Fire: Visions of Nebuchadnezzar creates a fascinating dialogue between two influential Australian artists, inviting visitors to reflect on enduring questions of identity, exile, psychological reckoning and what it means to be human.

Kathy Karas latest exhibition is now on at The Garden Berry. Inspired by her love of gardens and the expressive nature of watercolour, Kathy’s latest collection features works painted not only on traditional paper but also on aluminium, a medium she has been exploring in recent years. The result is a collection full of luminous colour, fluid brushwork and a fresh perspective on this much-loved painting style. The exhibition is on display in the dining room at The Garden Berry until 16th September.

South Coast singer-songwriter Jack Rose brings his warm, stripped-back indie-folk sound to Easys for a lunchtime performance.

Growing up on the South Coast of NSW, Jack brings a strong sense of place to his songwriting, with ocean-inspired themes and introspective storytelling at its heart. Performing solo and self-accompanied, he has built a steady following through performances across the South Coast, Illawarra, Sydney and Southern Highlands.

Right on Queen Street, Easys is a bright, welcoming café with plenty of undercover outdoor seating and a focus on fresh, seasonal produce. Grab a table for lunch, soak up the spring sunshine and enjoy an hour of live music in the heart of Berry.

Singer-songwriter Shalani takes to the courtyard at The Berry General Store for an afternoon session of contemporary folk and story-driven songwriting.

Performing across the Illawarra and Sydney since she was just eight years old, Shalani recently completed her degree at the Sydney Conservatorium and brings a fresh perspective to traditional folk influences. Inspired by artists including Gillian Welch and Leonard Cohen, her songs are intricate, personal and rich with observation and detail.

Berry General Store brings together good food, great coffee and a curated drinks offering within its character-filled historic building. For this performance, the music moves outdoors to the leafy courtyard – a beautiful relaxed spot to catch Shalani live. Bookings highly recommended.

Folk singer and storyteller Saxon Penn brings the raw, unvarnished traditions of early American folk to The Rutledge Bar & Eats.

Steeped in the traditions of early American music, Saxon pairs a gravel-laced voice with fingerpicked guitar, banjo and harmonica. Drawing from Lomax-era field recordings, talking blues and the dustbowl storytelling of Guthrie and Dylan, his performances move between original songs, old stories and comical ballads, with plenty of personality along the way.

Set within a beautifully restored heritage building, The Rutledge pairs its industrial-inspired interiors with a relaxed bar and dining atmosphere. Bookings highly recommended.

Western Australian singer-songwriter Adele Oliver heads to the intimate surrounds of Le Bar for an afternoon session of earthy folk and alt-country.

Born in the Wheatbelt and raised in Rubibi/Broome on Yawuru and Djugun Country, Adele found her creative voice in Fitzroy Crossing in the Central Kimberley. Her songwriting draws on influences including the Pigram Brothers, The Waifs and Kasey Chambers, with a sound that has also invited comparisons to Missy Higgins and Liz Stringer.

Her recent work has earned national ABC Country airplay and recognition at the WA Country Music Awards, while performances have included supports for Troy Cassar-Daley and King Stingray, along with appearances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival.

With its chilled wine bar atmosphere, carefully selected wines and small food menu, Le Bar is a natural match for Adele’s storytelling-led songs and warm alt-country sound. Walkins only.

The Folk trail heads to The Berry Hotel for a double bill featuring Canberra singer-songwriter Lucy Sugerman, followed by one of the day’s headline acts, Jack Davies (duo).

Lucy Sugerman creates soft folk-pop that balances sweetness with bite and charm with emotional depth. Her recent releases pair vulnerable lyrics with melodic hooks, while her growing live résumé includes BIGSOUND, SXSW in Austin, Groovin the Moo and main support on Sons Of The East’s sold-out Australian tour.

Walyalup/Fremantle songwriter Jack Davies is known for rambling poetics, warbled fingerpicking and an endearingly human stage presence. From busking on the streets of Fremantle to touring extensively across Australia, he has built a reputation for intimate performances filled with laughter, sorrow and beautifully understated songwriting.

For his Berry performance, Jack is joined by George Gare from the original Bush Chooks. The duo will perform original songs alongside a few new ones, layering warbled guitar and shimmering harmonies in a set full of warmth, character and the occasional creaking chair.

Make an afternoon of it at the Berry Hotel, with drinks flowing and a great line-up of live folk music. Bookings optional.

The Folk trail leads to the Great Southern Hotel, with Illawarra singer-songwriter Olivia Coggan opening the evening before Ben Morgan takes the stage for the final headline set of the day.

Olivia creates indie folk-pop that combines contemporary textures with intimate, unguarded storytelling. Mentored by Kasey Chambers and coming through the Talent Development Project, her 2026 releases have attracted airplay on triple j and Nova. She has supported artists including Missy Higgins, Boy & Bear, The Dreggs and Kim Churchill.

From busking on Manly’s Corso and the streets of Byron Bay to stages around the world, Ben Morgan has built an impressive following through his cool, cinematic indie-folk, shaded with blues and an achingly nostalgic quality. Raised on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, his songwriting draws on classic American and UK folk traditions alongside Australia’s coastal-folk sound.

His journey has seen him tour extensively and support artists including Ziggy Alberts, Ryan Harris and Kim Churchill. He also joined Alberts on stage during his headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, with the performance later appearing on Alberts’ official live album.

With its classic country pub atmosphere, Great Southern Hotel provides a fitting final destination for the trail – dinner, drinks and a headline performance from Ben Morgan to bring A Day Well Spent – Folk to a close. Bookings optional.

Take to the Kangaroo River on a guided kayaking adventure from historic Hampden Bridge to Bendeela with Valley Outdoors.

Designed for ages 12 and over, this three-hour tour combines flowing water, gentle rapids and peaceful river pools, with an experienced guide helping paddlers build their skills and confidence along the way. Keep watch for local wildlife including water dragons, kingfishers, turtles and wallabies as you make your way downstream.

No previous kayaking experience is required. Kayaks, paddles, PFDs, helmets, transport and guiding are all included.

Tours depart Saturdays at 10:00am and cost $125 per person. Guests should bring comfortable clothing, suitable footwear, sun protection, and their own food and drinks.

Step inside the working chocolate room at The Treat Factory for an immersive hands-on Belgian chocolate workshop in the heart of Berry.

Designed as a more in-depth chocolate-making experience, this premium workshop invites guests to learn, create and package their own beautifully handcrafted assortment of chocolates using a range of artisan techniques.

Participants will explore chocolate from raw cacao through to dark, milk, ruby and white varieties before creating a selection of nut clusters, hand-dipped chocolates, filled chocolates, solid chocolates and seasonal chocolate room favourites.

Creations are professionally packaged into a stunning take-home chocolate gift box to enjoy or share.

Guests can also watch chocolates being handcrafted on-site through the viewing windows into the real working chocolate room, making this one of Berry’s most unique artisan food experiences.

Join one of Australia’s most respected landscape painters for an immersive two-day workshop on beautiful Berry Mountain this October.

Led by acclaimed artist and educator Idris Murphy, this workshop focuses on painting and sketching directly from nature, encouraging participants to develop their own visual language while exploring the landscape around them. Through practical demonstrations, discussion and individual guidance, students will investigate composition, colour, mark-making, spatial illusion and the creative influences that shape contemporary landscape painting.

Suitable for artists working in any medium, the workshop’s small class size ensures plenty of personalised feedback, critique and support. Berry Motorfair returns on Sunday 8th November 2026, bringing together an impressive collection of more than 100 classic, collectable and cool vehicles in the picturesque grounds of Coolangatta Estate Winery.

From Italian exotica and Aussie muscle cars to German engineering, track-day specials, modified machines, motorcycles and priceless classics, the event showcases vehicles to suit every taste and generation of enthusiast.

More than just a car show, Berry Motorfair is a community celebration featuring food trucks, local wine, live music, charity auctions and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.

Since its launch, Berry Motorfair has raised more than $300,000 for charity partners, with proceeds supporting Lifeline Australia and local community initiatives.

Set against the backdrop of one of the South Coast’s most historic estates, Berry Motorfair offers a relaxed day out for motoring enthusiasts, families and visitors alike.

For car lovers, the vehicles are the stars – but the atmosphere, entertainment and community spirit make this one of the region’s most anticipated annual events.

Join David Collins Pottery across two Saturdays, 14 and 21 November, for a hands-on workshop exploring the fascinating process of Raku pottery.

On the first day, participants will work with ceramic artist Bruce McWhinney to create a water carrier and vase using kurinuki, a traditional Japanese hand-building technique where forms are shaped by carving into a solid block of clay.

The following Saturday brings the excitement of the Raku firing process. The finished pieces will be fired in a specially made kiln before being transferred while hot into containers filled with torn paper. As the paper ignites, the containers are sealed and the resulting smoke blackens the pots, creating the distinctive and unpredictable markings that make each piece unique.

A rare opportunity to get hands-on with this traditional ceramic technique and experience the process from making through to the dramatic final reveal.

Spend two inspiring days immersed in colour, creativity and contemporary painting with acclaimed Australian artist Larissa Blake in this workshop hosted by Artxtra on 14 & 15 November 2026.

Known for her joyful use of colour and expressive figurative abstraction, Larissa will guide participants through a hands-on workshop designed to help artists develop their practice, gain confidence and explore new creative directions. With a strong focus on individual feedback and mentoring, the workshop encourages participants to work on their own projects while receiving personalised guidance throughout the weekend.

Suitable for painters with some experience, participants are invited to bring their own reference images, canvases, works on paper or unfinished pieces for feedback and development.

Held in the beautiful surrounds of Berry Mountain, this intimate workshop is limited to just eight students and runs 10am – 4pm daily – includes morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch each day.
