The Berry Branch of the New South Wales Country Women’s Association (CWA) is an integral part of the Wollondilly Group of CWA which includes branches from Jamberoo, the Southern Highlands all the way to Milton.
On 11th April 2026 the Berry Branch of CWA will turn 75 years old. The Heritage Listed CWA building at 79 Victoria Street was originally the public school in Pulman Street. With the building of the present Berry Public School the original school was moved to its present position by the Berry Bowling Club before being bought by the Country Women’s Association of NSW in 1951.
The Berry Branch of CWA is active in the community from running fundraising stalls, holding community events like our Soup ’n Slice lunches and supporting other “not for profit” community groups like Berry Rotary and The Berry Show Society. We sing at local nursing homes, cook for the homeless, cater for community events and draw awareness to and advocate for local issues as well as provide a place to have a “cuppa” and share a laugh. Not only do we donate our time we also donate funds to SALT Care, SASSI, Shoalhaven Education Fund, CanAssist, A Taste of Paradise Farm, Berry Public School,The McGrath Foundation and others. In conjunction with CWA of New South Wales we support the State Disaster Relief Fund, The Royal Flying Doctors, the CWA State Medical Research Grant and the Joplin Education Scholarship.
If you are interested in checking us out you can drop into our Handicraft morning any Wednesday from 9am – Noon, our Choir every Friday 9:30 – 11am or our Monthly Meeting every 2nd Friday of the month at 1pm in the Berry CWA Rooms. We would love to meet you!
