2-Day Art Workshop with Yvonne Langshaw

Yvonne Langshaw who will teach a 2 day workshop focusing on sketching and painting directly from nature.

This workshop will be about exploring mark making techniques of expressive drawing using different media including ink, pastel, oil pastel, charcoal, graphite, paint, collage and gesso to create an abstract or semiabstract work. By adding created collage pieces plus paint to mark making, a new work will emerge. Experimentation, creativity and spontaneity will be focused on together with exciting and different ways of starting a painting. Demonstrations of techniques will be given as well as individual help and tuition.

Yvonne’s abstractions of landscapes are inspired by a developing love of nature and just enjoying the bushland. Over the years she has travelled further afield to the Kimberley, Central Australia and overseas, the flora and geology of the area giving the landscape its unique character.

Yvonne has works in public and private collections in Australia and overseas, including Shoalhaven City Council, Public Trustee of New South Wales, Kiama Leagues Club and has won over 100 first prizes in competitions since 1968.
