Steeped in the traditions of early American music, Saxon pairs a gravel-laced voice with fingerpicked guitar, banjo and harmonica. Drawing from Lomax-era field recordings, talking blues and the dustbowl storytelling of Guthrie and Dylan, his performances move between original songs, old stories and comical ballads, with plenty of personality along the way.
