Event Details

Kiama Artist Helen Pain makes a welcome return to The Garden with her exhibition “Impressions – My Way”.

Helen’s career has been varied, but always connected to her love of the Arts. She has worked as a professional singer and performer, and spent many years in education as a teacher, choral conductor, music consultant and Creative Arts Coordinator, covering both music and visual art. Now retired, painting has become her chosen form of artistic expression.

Helen describes her art inspiration as her response to colour, to light and shade, and the ever-changing effect of sunlight on landscape and emotion. Her paintings are bright and expressive, and often highly textured.

Helen’s previous background in music is an unconscious influence on her work, as she paints quickly and freely, particularly in the early stages of a work. She enjoys painting a range of subjects and loves to experiment with a variety of mediums.

“Impressions – My Way” features some of Helen’s most recent works, covering impressionistic landscapes, floral studies and still life, using mixed media and acrylics.

The exhibition will run from Thursday the 6th of February until Wednesday the 5th of March, with all works available for purchase.
