Berry Sport and Recreation Centre is conveniently located two kilometres away from the heart of Berry village, and is a picturesque two hour drive south of Sydney.
Sprawled lushly across a 62-hectare site with a major creek along its western boundary, the Centre hosts schools and communities who are seeking to congregate in a breathtaking, convenient location. Friendly staff members are always happy to tailor your events with a focus on outdoor activity, fun and team-building.
The centre boasts a shady riverbank area popular with families and community groups for it’s serene environment; a cricket pitch for would-be Steve Smiths; high and low rope courses for young and old; an archery centre; canoeing, sparkling swimming pool and a Flying Fox. The centre offers dormitory accommodation for 150 people.
The centre accommodates 150 school students in rooms sleeping either four or six students. Supervising teachers are accommodated in separate rooms with more creature comforts.
Programs are planned with a view to meeting both school and curriculum outcomes and are conducted by qualified staff. The centre provides an environment where students can connect with nature; challenge their perceptions of the world’ develop problem-solving strategies’ build relationships and reflect on their learning experiences.
Activities include canoeing, a giant swing, Flying Fox, climbing wall, indoor climbing challenges, dark maze, archery, cookout, bushwalking, mud run, orienteering, problem-solving, creative art, camping and others.
Berry Sport and Recreation runs tailor-made community programs for a minimum of 30 people. It caters for people with disabilities, youth groups, family groups, educational groups, corporate organisations, hobby groups, and sporting and recreation clubs.
Community groups can choose to conduct their own programs or participate in programs designed for them by the Centre.
